Ottaviano Del Turco (born November 7, 1944 in Collelongo, province of L'Aquila) is an Italian politician and Member of the European Parliament. He was elected on the Social Democrat ticket and sits with the Party of European Socialists group. Del Turco was the president of the Antimafia Commission in December 1996 until May 2000.
   On July 23, 2004 he was elected Chair of the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs.
   On April 4, 2005 he won the election as President of his native Abruzzo, as candidate for left-wing coalition The Union, and on May 1 resigned his seat in the European Parliament to take up this post.
   Ottaviano Del Turco is currently supporting the Eni oil refinery in the town of Ortona that has strong opposition from the entire population. Despite of the opposition and the document risks for Ortona and the entire region, he still supports the oil refinery with these words: "Until western societies are based on oil I don't see why we should neglected this opportunities"
